01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of Kota Pematang Siantar, RM. Beringin Indah 2 offers a genuine taste of traditional Indonesian cuisine that will captivate both locals and visitors alike. This beloved eatery specializes in authentic North Sumatran flavors, serving dishes that carry the rich heritage and diverse culinary traditions of the region.

One cannot visit RM. Beringin Indah 2 without trying their famous Burung Goreng—a deeply flavorful fried bird dish praised for its juicy and tender meat, much like the tender Puyuh but with a distinctive wild twist. Alongside this standout, the acar (pickled vegetables) and daun ubi tumbuk (mashed tapioca leaves) deliver vibrant, comforting bites that balance the richness of the main courses. The gulai ikan (fish curry) bursts with fragrant spices that warm the palate, leaving a lingering, savory satisfaction.

What truly elevates the dining experience here is the signature sauce—the sambel kecap—an irresistible sweet and spicy soy-based condiment that perfectly complements every dish it accompanies. This sauce alone could easily become your go-to flavor enhancer for Indonesian meals.

Beyond the food, RM. Beringin Indah 2 provides a welcoming, down-to-earth atmosphere where hospitality shines. As noted by a guest who visited on a rainy day, the staff is exceptionally kind, attentive, and polite, setting a warm mood that invites you to relax and savor each bite. The quality and authenticity do not come with a high price tag; customers appreciate the value, especially when enjoying freshly made specialties like the sweet and sour fish or the concentrated avocado drink—a refreshingly creamy delight costing less than a dollar.

Vegetarians will also find thoughtful options here, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the rich flavors of Indonesian cooking. The setting’s charm is enhanced by a tranquil pond nearby, creating a peaceful backdrop that seems to slow time just enough for you to fully immerse yourself in the culinary journey.

In sum, RM. Beringin Indah 2 is more than a meal—it’s an invitation to experience the soul of Sumatera Utara’s gastronomic heritage. Whether you’re indulging in the famed fried bird or sipping the fresh fruit juices, you walk away feeling nourished, satisfied, and connected to the rich cultural fabric of the region.

Stop by during rainy day in Siantar, We tried "burung menu" so called Fried Ruwa-Ruwa. It's looks like Puyuh Bird but quite juicy, eventhough categorized as a wild bird. And of course it is "HALAL". The waitress soo helpful, kind, and polite, way-way better than my first expectation for service in Sumut, well everyone know about it. The price not so expensive compare to what we ordered, 5 fried ruwa², broccoli, stir fried water spinach, etc, less than 200k rupiah.

Very nice and tasty local food. The sweet sour fish is very fresh. One must try their avocado drink where they served concentrated. The taste of this drink is very fresh and it's only cost less than $1
